Some weddings feel like they were designed for their venue from the first conversation, and Brooke and Josh's Spring wedding at The Chateau at Incline Village was one of them. The Chateau sits just down the road from our studio, vaulted timber ceilings, big stone fireplaces, a Grand Ballroom that opens onto covered decks with lake and mountain views, and for a couple who wanted their day to feel like Tahoe without leaving any of the luxury behind, it was exactly the right room to build in.
A Reception Built Around Warmth, Not Formality
Brooke and Josh's reception centered on a sweetheart table backed by a warm wood accent wall, lit simply with an overhead neon sign of their new last name. We kept the floral treatment low and lush rather than tall and formal: a long, loosely gathered garden-style runner along the front of the table in white and soft green, built to work with the Chateau's timber and stone rather than compete with it. Guest tables carried the same palette in smaller arrangements, so the room read as cohesive without feeling matched to the point of stiffness.
That restraint is deliberate. The Chateau's architecture already does a lot of the visual work, vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a fireplace as a built-in focal point, so our approach here (as with most of our Incline Village weddings) is to design florals that support the room instead of trying to outshine it.
Why We Build This Way
Every stem in Brooke and Josh's arrangements was chosen the way we choose flowers for every wedding: seasonally, and as close to home as we can source it. No floral foam went into any arrangement, we build exclusively with reusable mechanics like chicken wire and pin frogs, which means nothing in that table runner ends up as microplastic in the watershed a few miles from where the reception took place. For a wedding literally minutes from the lake, that matters to us as much as it does to the couples who choose us for it.

The Chateau's flexibility, a Grand Ballroom that can divide into three distinct spaces, an outdoor lawn ceremony site, wraparound decks for cocktail hour, means the floral plan really depends on which combination of spaces you're using and what time of year you're marrying. Because we're based in Incline Village ourselves, we know this venue's light, its layout, and its seasonal rhythms about as well as any florist can.
