Golden Flowers is a floral design studio based in Incline Village, Nevada. This policy covers goldenflorals.com and the inquiries we receive through it. Questions about anything here can go to brittany@goldenflorals.com or (530) 557-7689.

Information you give us

When you send a consultation request, we receive what you type into the form: your name, your wedding date, your venue, who you are in the wedding (the couple, a planner, family or a friend), the couple's names if you add them, your budget range, the look you're after, your message, and whichever contact details you choose to give us, meaning an email address, a phone number, or both.

If you call, text or email us instead, we keep that conversation and whatever you tell us in it, for the same reasons.

Information collected automatically

Two third-party tools run on this site and start collecting as soon as a page loads, before you fill anything in:

• Google Analytics 4 records which pages you visit, how you arrived (a search, a link, an ad), roughly where you are based on your IP address, and what browser and device you're using. It does not tell us who you are by name.
• Microsoft Clarity records how you use a page: mouse movement, clicks, taps and scrolling. From that we can see heatmaps and anonymised recordings of how visitors move through pages, which helps us find where the site is confusing. Clarity is configured to mask the text typed into form fields, so we see that a field was filled rather than what was typed. If you arrive from a Google ad, we tag the session so we can tell ad traffic from everything else.

Both tools set cookies or store identifiers in your browser to recognise a returning visit. Neither runs when the site is being previewed or developed locally; they run on the live goldenflorals.com only.

What we use it for

Inquiry details are used to answer you, to check the date, to quote and to plan the work if you book us. Analytics and session recordings are used to understand which pages people actually read, where a page confuses people, and whether our advertising is worth what it costs. We do not use any of it to make automated decisions about you.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. It reaches other companies only as part of running the studio:

• Google, for Analytics, and for Workspace, where consultation requests are stored in a spreadsheet and emailed to us.
• Microsoft, for Clarity. Microsoft may use the data it collects for its own purposes under its own terms.
• GitHub, which hosts this site and, like any web host, processes the requests your browser makes to it.
• Wedding vendors, only where sharing is the point: passing your timeline to your planner, or your delivery address to the venue, once you have engaged us.
• Anyone we're legally required to give it to.

How long we keep it

Inquiries stay in our records while we are talking, and afterwards as part of our business history, whether or not you book. Analytics data expires on Google's and Microsoft's own schedules, which are measured in months, not years. Ask us to delete your inquiry and we will, except where we have to keep a record for tax or contract reasons.

Your choices

• Opt out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it with Google's browser opt-out add-on.
• Opt out of Clarity through Microsoft's privacy statement, or block both tools with any standard content blocker. The site is built to work normally when they're blocked.
• Clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
• Email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. Exercise any of these by emailing us; we may need to confirm who you are before acting.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning a wedding. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and we delete it if we find we have.

Changes

If we add a tool that collects something new, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Material changes will be obvious rather than quiet.
