Valhalla, Tahoe.

Lakeside weddings at the Tallac Historic Site.

Why this venue matters

One of the most atmospheric venues on the lake.

Valhalla is a 1920s Grand Hall and boathouse on Lake Tahoe's south shore, set among old-growth pines a few steps from the water. Timber, stone, and that filtered Sierra light give it character most venues spend a fortune trying to fake.

A room with this much presence doesn't want to be covered up. We design florals that work with the wood and the pines: textural, seasonal, a little wild at the edges, never fussy. The Grand Hall takes statement installations beautifully; the boathouse and lawn ceremonies call for something looser and lakeside.

Because Valhalla is part of a state historic site, load-in and breakdown follow specific rules and timing. We've worked within them before and plan the day so the constraints never reach you.

Of the place

Pine, fern, and textural blooms that echo the forest setting rather than fight it.

Built for the Hall

Statement pieces scaled to the timber Grand Hall, plus looser lakeside ceremony work.

Foam-free

California-grown stems, no floral foam: better for the design and for the lake.

Site-savvy

We plan around the historic-site load-in and timing so nothing falls on you.

Design philosophy

How we approach Valhalla florals.

Design with the architecture

The timber Grand Hall is the star. We build pieces that read against dark wood and stone rather than disappearing into them.

A palette from the pines

Ferns, textural greens, and garden-grown blooms that feel like they belong to the Tallac forest.

Two very different rooms

The Hall wants scale and drama; the boathouse and lawn want something looser and lakeside. We design each on its own terms.

Respect the site

As a state historic site, Valhalla has firm load-in and strike windows. We plan the whole day around them so nothing runs late.

Questions about Valhalla

What planning here looks like.

Do you design florals for Valhalla Tahoe weddings?
Yes. We design for the Grand Hall, the boathouse, and the lakeside lawn at the Tallac Historic Site. We plan around the park's load-in windows and site guidelines so setup and breakdown run cleanly without those constraints landing on you.
What does a typical Valhalla wedding budget look like?
Full-service florals here typically range from $10,000–$18,000, depending on installation scale and guest count. The Grand Hall takes statement pieces beautifully, so budget often rises with how much of the architecture you want the florals to work with. Every proposal is custom, built after your consultation.
Are there restrictions on florals at a state historic site?
Valhalla has specific load-in timing and site rules as a historic property. We've worked within them before and build the whole day's logistics around them so nothing runs late or becomes your problem to manage. On the materials side, we've always worked foam-free, which aligns well with the environmental standards the site requires.
How far in advance should I reach out?
Valhalla dates are limited by the park calendar, so they fill early. We recommend reaching out 12–18 months ahead when you can. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway and we'll let you know our availability.
