Wedding flowers at 8,200 feet
High Camp sits at 8,200 feet above Olympic Valley, reached by the Palisades Tahoe aerial tram and ringed by the granite peaks that hosted the 1960 Winter Olympics, back when the resort was still called Squaw Valley. The setting is enormous, bright, and exposed.
Flowers here have two jobs: hold up in thin, dry alpine air, and hold their own against a very big view. Delicate, thirsty blooms struggle at altitude. We design with hardy, well-conditioned stems and structure that reads from a distance.
Everything also has to ride the tram. We plan the build, the hydration, and the load-in around that single constraint, so what arrives at the top is as fresh as what left the studio.
Palisades Tahoe hosts weddings in two places: High Camp at the top of the tram, and the Olympic Valley Event Center (OVEC) on the valley floor. We design for both, and the same alpine palette carries beautifully down the mountain.
At altitude
High Camp sits at 8,200 feet, reached by the aerial tram. Thin, dry air changes how flowers hold, so conditioning and stem choice matter.
Olympic Valley
At the head of Olympic Valley, ringed by granite peaks. For valley-floor celebrations, the Olympic Valley Event Center (OVEC) sits at the base of the same tram.
Panoramic
Ceremonies look out over the valley and the High Sierra. Arrangements have to read at scale and never compete with that view.
Seasonal
A short alpine season. We design around what's at peak: lupine and mule's ears in high summer, golden grasses into fall.
Thin, dry air is hard on cut flowers. We choose hardy varieties, condition them thoroughly, and build with water sources that keep everything alive through a full day above the valley.
The backdrop is granite and sky for miles. Small, low arrangements disappear here. We design installations and centerpieces with the height, transparency, and structure to hold the space.
The High Camp palette is granite gray, dry-grass gold, and the deep green of the tree line. We lean into wild, textural, of-the-mountain designs, with drama on request.
Every stem rides the aerial tram to the top. We plan the build, packing, and load-in around that, so setup is calm and the flowers arrive at full freshness.
